#1 - when it rains, water runs into the engine bay around the lower lip of the hood. Some of that water will run down the rail you mounted the PTU to. Water + electronics = trouble down the road. I'm not saying this will happen, but is more likely. #2 - for someone who opens his hood as much as you do (and the rest of us who open it a lot) there is a much larger chance that you'll forget it is there and either lean on it with your hand or bang it with a tool. Why not place it either behind the fusible link holder or behind the headlight - why place it in such an 'accessible' location? It isn't something you should really ever need access to, relatively speaking.
